Our Last Day- Sadly

Today we got to sleep in and go curling on this rainy day, we went to the Gothenburg Curling club. It was definitely an interesting expirence and many of our class picked it up very fast, I proudly fell enough times for my entire team, curling was tons of fun and the shoes were way slippery than I initially thought, there is also more rules to curling than I thought before, it is a very interesting sport and I’m glad i got to experience with a professional.

Our firefighting impromptu adventure, we headed to the fire station for a classmate to exchange a shirt for his Chicago Fire Department dad. After a little bit of confusion the Swedes acted in typical fashion and were more than accommodating to us. After a couple minutes they did more than exchange shirts with us they offered to give us an in-depth tour of the fire station.

The tour of the fire department was very interesting and in-depth, the future chief of command gave us a tour and was unbelievably friendly. He gave us some fun facts on the city of Gothenburg such as despite the city being full of the friendliest people on earth and almost no gun ownership theirs still a shooting almost every day. And that the police do not have any of their own divers and the fire department does all of the water recoveries and diving. Each fire engine carries a max of 5 fire fighters, and everybody potatoes the position

As you can see they were friendly, we actually visited the largest station in Gothenburg, and that station, there are 30 female fire fighters employed in the city, the most amazing part of our trip was the amenities they had a full pool for training purposes, a full size gym court to play sports inside as the weather outside is usually quit questionable. They also have a cardio gym and a dead weight gym, they have to workout for at least an hour and a half a shift.

We went to the Gothia Towers for our last dinner here in Sweden and it was quit the experience and the views were great it was probably the most upscale dinner I have ever had, the environment and atmosphere was amazing, with very flavorful foods, and amazing wines and adult juices. Sweden really knows how to treat a guy right.

MATT’S DAILY TAKEAWAYS!

  • Gothenburg keeps rescue divers on call around the clock.
  • Im a bigger fan on cooked shrimp.
