Woohoo a free day! Today was our free day and boy was it nice to sleep to in, we started our day off by going to our favorite cafe just done the street from our hostel. It is formerly known as Tin Tins, it was very nice to sleep in a bit and get a nice American style breakfast, theres no place like home!

It was very nice to get something you’re used too, eggs and bacon almost as American as apple pie. After learning to eat like a Swede which means bread, potatoes and lots of things that i don’t know what it is.

After that we went exploring the city for bit and then went to the Universium, and I must say we are navigating these subways like a native, this is pretty much my hometown by now. It is a natural history museum that specializes in technology, rain forest, water and aquatic marine life, and space.

My favorite part of the whole museum was the Tropical animals in it, it was unbelievable hot in there and monkeys were crawling around us but sadly there were no pets. There were many tropical birds in there and rope bridges with birds of many beautiful colors flying around. What was also very cool was the aquarium there was huge fish swimming around and a tunnel you could walk under them.

On our way to exploring the city we walked under a road in a bridge with moseic tiles, it was very nice art and unexpected to see in an industrial part of town.

These are some of the sights around my second home, Gothenburg Sweden. Looking into the city with everything being new, everything is so interesting and cool.

One thing I still have not grown old of is the beautiful buildings all around town, the intricate brick work on the buildings. And we learned that due to great fires in the city that the wooden buildings have burnt down and very few exist around the city due to close buildings and fires spreading wildly. After these fires only brick buildings were allowed to be constructed and the result is a city of beautiful buildings.
MATT’S DAILY TAKEAWAYS!
- The Swedes can do many things good, but a burger is still an American specialty.
- Swedish folks are the friendliest people you will ever meet and look for chances to help you.
- Rainforest simulations are way to hot for my liking.
