Off To Sweden We go!

It is our first night here in Gothenburg and what a journey it has been! After an 8 hour flight across the pond we landed in Denmark and I Was able to get my first stamp on my Passport Woo Hoo! Then a quick connecting flight and I was able to get my first taste of Sweden.

I was quite worried about being such a Big guy in the small conditions for such a long flight but everything seemed to work out for the best for us and the flight FLEW by in no time at all. Our entire class has some jet lag kicking into full effect and believe we are feeling it. So far the best remedy for that has been a quality meal, while the food on the plane was surprisingly good, we went to an incredible Italian restaurant down the street from our hotel.

Our first night in Sweden we are feasting like kings! We went down the street to Pasta Haus where we ate a variety of fine pastas, I chose the ribeye over a bed of roasted of potatoes and boy was it good. we then ventured farther down the street and stopped a local cafe where we got to try the sweeter side f the culinary here. Immediately you can tell the food is delicious and amazing, but you are able to tell the differences between here and food from home.

Here is an image of one of the desserts we ate, it was even as good as it looks, it is a sort of fruit cobbler with a super rich creme served warm. I had what was like a flourless cake with a drizzle on top, and of coarse a helping serving of whipped creme.

After our dinner we went for a short walk to start learning the narrow steep roads of our neighborhood and to stretch our legs after the long days of traveling.

My daily Reflections

  • First there are way more Volvos here then you would of ever guessed.
  • Swedish whipped creme is not sweet like it is in the United States.
  • Third, Jet lag is much worse than i thought it would be.
